The Beacon of Light to 1.5 million people
Six years ago I had the privilege to attend the Doxology conference in Philadelphia. As I look back, it was undeniably a time well spent. Learning and renewing, feeding and filling, it was an important ministry moment as pastors were taught the care of souls. Also, it was time to reunite with my fellow seminary classmates, and there I met my brother Pastor Rob Kieselowsky. A good friend indeed, but even a better Pastor in an LCMS organization called, Philadelphia Lutheran Ministries [PLM].
Philadelphia is the fifth most populated city in America. Boasting 1.5 million in the heart of the city, the need for the proclaimed Word is of the utmost importance. Yet, the heart of Philadelphia is the most underserved city in the LCMS. Actually, Pastor Kieselowsky is the only Pastor serving full-time in the city. As the Pastor/Executive Director of PLM, he continues to serve at Logos Lutheran Church [Philadelphia PA] a congregation that is surrounded by many universities [Penn, Temple, Drexel etc.] along with the ever-growing population.
With the help of a vicar, PLM continues to proclaim the Word and Sacrament in a place that needs to hear and receive the life-saving gifts of Christ and His promises. As the only LCMS church in the heart of the city, PLM/Logos Lutheran is the beacon of light to such a large community! Thanks be to God for Pastor Kieselowsky and his faithful efforts as he shares the Gospel in such a unique and diverse context.
This year, we have decided to designate a mission donation to PLM to support the ministry within the city. Thank you for your continued offerings as they will not only assist PLM but also support Centro Cristiano Hispano. Along with these mission opportunities, I continue to pray that in the forthcoming year, we open another mission opportunity that will help a community in their mission of preaching Christ and in Him Crucified!
After all, the world needs to hear and receive the life-saving message that far surpasses any other cure. I pray that we may walk together in Christ as we serve in His name. For these are the blessed opportunities that will greatly assist and support the proclamation of the Gospel!
What can you do?
1) Pray for our missions:

2) Prayerfully prepare and give offerings to these missions of great need.
