Looking Forward
With April 12th marked on the calendar, this is the peak of the Church Year. The time of year where we celebrate the victorious battle that was won by the cross of Christ at Calvary and His resurrection three days later. Earlier in the week, we prepare the palms for the children to wave and sing the Hosannas!, we gather together on Maundy Thursday to receive the Supper of our Lord, we gather together on Good Friday to dwell upon the Crucifixion, and on Easter Morning, we celebrate with the words,
And of course, the great celebration followed by the Easter breakfast coordinated by the Walker family. As a highlight of the year as we gather together in food and fellowship rejoicing as redeemed children of God.
But this year will be different. Due to the recommendations to limit the spread of COVID-19 our online-only services will continue until further notice. You might be wondering, “Will we celebrate Holy Week and Easter when we return?” And Yes! Of course! We shall celebrate The Resurrection together in all of its fullness! But until then, we will continue on with the church year online as we walk Holy Week together in this time of crisis. And take heart, this too shall pass. For nothing can separate us from Christ and through Him, we look forward in hope. In the meantime, we will closely monitor the situation and relay any updates when appropriate. Until then, join us in unified isolation, as we celebrate the Christ and His Work from the Triumphal Entry to His Empty Tomb!
Also, a special thank you to you all. It is during these important times that we band together. And to see all that you have done for one another is indeed a joyous moment of thanksgiving. Thank you for caring, showing kindness and compassion and simply loving one another. Your acts of kindness have been a great encouragement during this difficult time. Thank you to our council and elders for continuing to help and support the ministry at Faith Lutheran. Thank you for the prayers and the concern for the welfare of Christ’s Church! And also a very special thank you to Jeff Mark and Chris Deklotz. You have helped in so many different ways in this interesting time. Thank you for all your help in the services and the time you commit to having these services unfold in such a beautiful way. You are appreciated and I thank you for everything that you do.
We are in this together, and as we look forward, all will always be well. For “It is Finished!” and with great surety and bold confidence we move together victoriously in the name of Christ!
