Thankful
Greetings to you in the name of our Lord!
Is it already August? I remember this time last year when my family and I were deliberating the call to serve here at Faith. Through prayer and discussion, we accepted the call and in whirlwind-like fashion we were here 13 days later.
"And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."
Colossians 3:16-17.
Indeed! There is much to be thankful for as we reflect upon the Lord's work here at Faith Moorpark. Here are a few...
1) Caring
I thank the Lord that you have been a very empathetic and caring congregation. Through the light of God's word, the Holy Spirit
continues to lead and guide you in His "love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness". [Gal 5:22]. It is always an encouraging sign to see all of you constantly serving and caring for those within and outside of our congregation. I pray that we may continue to love and serve joyously as redeemed children of God.
2) Outreaching
I am always thankful to see the many participants within our evangelism group. Though the group is fairly new, it is a great blessing that many of you have jumped on the ship as you prepare to "make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you" [1 Pt 3:15a]. I pray that we may continue [by the power of the Holy Spirit] to engage the culture and give Jesus to all with "gentleness and respect, having a good conscience" [1Pt3:15-16]. I pray that Christ may continue to lead you in His work that has set you free.
3) Studying
"For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart"[Heb4:12]. With three bible studies offered every week, I am always encouraged to see many come out to study, discuss, learn and digest God's word and His truth. Also, to see the strength of our faithful Sunday school staff who engage our youth in the importance of God's word. What a blessing it is to see God's word continue to grow in our congregation.
4) Loving
Through His love, we love one another [1Jn4:19]. Day in day out, week in and week out, I observe so many acts of love with all of you. Whether it is to help one another in need, or make a gift basket for a needy family, and for those who contributed to Rachael's Closet and Vacation Bible School, I thank the Lord for His love that has shown you how to love. We thank the Lord for His gracious Gospel that continues to comfort the broken [Mt11:27] and give life to all through Christ's death and resurrection. And I continuously pray that, we, as a congregation may continue to walk together in the love of Christ.
We have so much to look forward to here at Faith Moorpark, and I pray that as we enter the second year together, we may continue to faithfully receive, grow and witness the Lord's work as we shine inwardly and outwardly to our community. May Christ keep you and bless you in His Holy name!

P.S. Thank you to you all for supporting us in our adventure to home ownership.
